How Silico works
Most AI tools are a single model answering in a single voice. Silico works more like a team. Here's the whole idea in one minute.
The orchestrator and the swarm
When you send a task, an orchestrator takes charge. It:
- Plans — breaks your request into concrete steps (you see this as the Plan checklist).
- Delegates — hands each step to a specialist sub-agent.
- Assembles — pulls the pieces together, checks the work, and gives you the finished result.
Each sub-agent is focused on one job — researching, writing, analyzing data, designing, coding — and runs on whichever AI model is best suited to that job.
The right model for every step
Silico can route across 250+ models from every major provider. Instead of forcing your whole task through one model, it picks the cheapest model that's good enough for each step — a frontier model for the hard reasoning, a fast inexpensive one for the routine parts.
You don't have to manage any of this. But you can see it: expand any sub-agent card and open Routing to see why a particular model was chosen, including the candidates it considered.

The receipt: no token math, no surprise bill
Under every reply, Silico shows both the real cost of the compute it used and what you were charged (real cost × your plan's markup), then your remaining balance. Web-search and connected-tool fees are shown as already included, not tacked-on surprises. You can always check our math.
